Description
Brooklyn-based artist Madeline Donahue is celebrated for her humorous take on the absurdities and banalities of early parenthood. Slingshot originated in a series of drawings made during Covid and after the birth of Donahue’s second child. In the image the older child uses the new baby as a projectile in a slingshot improvised from the mother’s underwear.
Donahue’s solo exhibition Fun House was on view at Praise Shadows in 2021. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
