$50.00

Signed Copies. Limited Edition of 400 copies.

Foreword by Durga Chew-Bose.

This book presents a captivating collection of photos by Pelle Cass, the Brookline-based photographer who developed his own style of “still time-lapse” with a focus on sporting events.

Starting in 2018, Cass embarked on an experimental journey, exploring the vast realm of sports through his unique vision. Instead of digitally altering the images, he masterfully layers multiple frames, pushing the boundaries of the photographic medium to its kinetic limit and skillfully reconstructing our perception of time.

Description

Pelle Cass’s photo compositions are saturated with figures, often to the point of chaos. With Crowded Fields, which he began in 2018, he takes the vast subject of sport and plays by his own experimental rules. Layering multiple frames rather than altering the images, Cass pushes the photographic medium to its kinetic limit while reconstructing time as we know it.
